Long time client and friend LT. Chessley Atchison from Maryland spent some R&R on the water fishing for Peacock & Largemouth Bass today. On day one he had a fantastic day catching near 30 Peacock Bass and only one Mylan. Now day 2 wasn’t so productive, with the Hot weather sunny blue bird shies, and no wind made fishing kind of tough. Even though we only caught 9 fish we did manage to put these two nice bass in the boat. If you are thinking of coming down this winter plan your choice dates, now why they are still available. Thanks for another great season to all my clients this year that I fished with. Have a Great Lobor Day weekend Capt. Frank Carbone

Mike Hawkins from Orlando for the longest time want to go Peacock Bass after seeing one of my show on TV. This was on his bucket list, and today he fulfilled it by catching the Largest Male Butterfly Peacock Bass this year. Mike with his fishing buddy Ron started the day out as usual each taking turns catch Peacock Bass Mylan & Midas Cichlids and also a Largemouth. In the morning we had spotted a large male peacock bass but couldn’t get him to bite, after several tries we moved on and would try again on the return towards the end of the day. With 19 fish in the boat and signs of rain we head back to where we last spotted the trophy fish. I had both Anglers make long casts to the areas where we last seen him. The Peacock was in a frenzy and finally hit Mike’s bait and the fight was on. This monster took 60 feet of line and the spool of the reel was singing. We had to run chase this Trophy down the canal until he wore himself out after 10 mins. victory was Mike’s. Mike caught this trophy 7.1 LB. 24.5″ X 17″ Male Peacock Bass on a 7′ MH Denali Rosewood Rod, with a Daiichi # 1 bleeding hook, with 10 lb.. vicious mono line. This is the winning combination that works for catching peacock bass. Also this were other successful client’s I had Robert Sitterson and his two sons Cody and Joel.
