Today I had taken out Repeat Client Chuck Howorth from Chicago. I was on some Crank bait fish also using the new Gambler Fat Ace. Even though it was a cold brisk morning the bass were hungry and they were hitting like a fright train. In the first hour and a half we had boated over 40 bass up to 4 .5 lb. We had gotten a bite almost on every cast, it didn’t matter what we threw. On the very first cast I hit one on a crank bait and Chuck caught his on a Ace, what a way to start out with a double. Here’s an example of how hungry they were and why I say it was a Feeding Frenzy All the bass today were caught on my new sponsors gear, Danali Rods and Abu Garcia Revo Reels. Now all my clients will have the privilage to fish with either Baitcasters or Spinning Tackle. Also what helps is a good quality line both Floracarbon and Braid by Vicious , and aStrong X-Point 4/0 hook. Not to wear out the spot we moved around finding fish . We stopped in Pelican Bay , Grassy Is. ,Buzzard’s Roost to mention a few spots on the Big “O”. Last winter was fantastic and I had my best year ever . this year we are predicting the “Lake” to even better. So book your date’s now for the prime SPAWNING SEASON. DEC- March. Capt. Frank Carbone and his staff of Guides are ready 7 days a week. Good Fishin’ 954-325-1115

For the past 4 days I had the pleasure of guiding my client K Ote his lovely new bride Miku and Father Hidefumi from Tokyo Japan They have fished with me in the past , and had even gone with me to The Amazon. This trip had a different mission . K wanted to catch Snakeheads more then the other species. K accomplished what he came here for by catching this 33 ” 6.5 lb. Shakehead on a spinner bait. His dad also added another species to the list, poor Miku just kept on missing them. Miku had her revenge when we went Peacock bass fishing catching not only the biggest but the most and the smallest or should I say the cutest. After a very successful morning we headed for Lunch at my favorite Watering Hole Sonia’s for some excellent Cuban food, a must when fishing near the airport. This is a Great family that I truly enjoyed fishing with and will always look forward to their return. The talk was K and his Dad will go back to the Amazon , but only if They took Miku back to Florida so she could enjoy the beach and fishing of course. Our busiest and peak season is nearing so book your dates early . Capt Frank enjoys Guiding 7 Days a week

Our flight from Miami to Manaus was great. We were met at the airport by a driver and a English speaking guide set up by Jorge. after checking into the Tropical Manaus (which by the way was a very nice place) we went and had a great seafood lunch. After lunch went for a drive through town to the fish market, what a very interesting place. Went back to hotel hang around the pool. That evening went to a Brazilian steakhouse for dinner. We were taken to the airport and boarded a plane to Barcelos. After a short 45 minute flight arrived at the Barcelos airport. A van took us to the mother ship (TUCUNA AMAZON). A very nice boat, large deck up top, nice dining room and comfortable sleeping quarters, bunk beds with A/C. Jorge and the crew were great very nice and helpful. The first day my son Brandon and I caught 18 fish from 4-13 lbs. Steve our other friend caught 8 fish from 3-9 lbs. Val told us it would get better in a day or two. Told us we would catch some big fish and he was right. I did hook a solid 20 pounder on a white body red headed woodchopper. What a thrill. I caught a 22 pounder on a jig very exciting I actually saw the fish come and grab the jig. Later that day Brandon hooked a 20 pounder on a white body chartreuse head high roller lure. , I was fishing with a jig and a big 22 pounder could not resist it. What a beautiful fish. About 30 minutes after I caught that fish, I threw my lure in a tree my guide was headed over to get it out, as he was reaching to unhook from tree we heard a huge explosion behind us. while we were getting lure from tree Brandon was fishing off the back he just hooked a big fish, guide kept yelling big fish big fish. This fish was strong trying to get in the trees...

These past two day I had a wonderful time with repeat clients Marvin Ross and his Daughter Melissa from Chicago. the duo had fished with me in The Amazon and holds the record for the most Peacock Bass caught in a single day , 147. Now back to Florida , First we headed to Miami for the smaller Butterfly Peacock Bass. They had a ball catching over 35 fish including Mylan Cichlids, Largemouth Bass and of course several Peacock Bass up to 4 lb. The next day they headed to the famed “Lake Okeechobee” , for some explosive action. Once again Melissa out fished dear old Dad. Marv had his chance but lost a possible 10 lb. Bass as we watched it jump and spit the hook. Together they caught between 35- 40 largemouth with 2 Gar and one big Bofin. The fishing has been great and this year I feel” The Lake” will do exceptionally well, with the way the water conditions are. Our peak season is coming so if your thinking about getting out of the cold this winter , I suggest you book your dates early. Capt. Frank Carbone , “The Hawghunter”, and Guides work 7 days a week and waiting to take you Fishing.

Today was a great day for Charlie Vogelsand from St Lous , MO. as he battled in a Trophy Male Butterfly Miami Peacock Bass. This fight took every bit of 8-10 mins. to bring in being Charlie only has 10 lb. test line on . With a quality line by Vicious and a sharp # 1 Daiichi Bleeding Hook helped to successfully land this “HAWG”. Now we can’t forget the birthday boy Tony Gianino also from STL as he had the most catches. Together this Duo caught over 40 Bass , besides the monster they also had a 4.3 Lb. and 4 over 3 lb. This was an enjoyable day as we talked most of the day about The Good Italian food from “The Hill” if your from MO. you’ll know what I mean. Also the Great Italian restaurants we have here in Florida. Here are some other satisfied client in the past week. Dan Wyeth and his Son Justin from Ohio caught 22 and Dan also catching this nice Largemouth Bass. See that’s the nice thing about fishing South Florida on the same trip you can catch both species. Then there was Jed and Lisa Dickens from Georgia as they show off the “cutest” double ever caught in Hawghunter history From Florida I had Patrick Stakausky who took his Dad Fishing for the day. They had a great day as Pat landed a nice 5 lb. to top the day off. Right now the peacock Bass Fishing is fantastic and if you can make it on down , come on you won’t regret it. Capt. This past week myself and guide Doug spent a day on the Water catching some Big Bass with clients. Capt. Doug with clients Carl and his son from Florida caught over 30 Bass up to 7.5 lb. some were caught on Wild shiners the others on top water plastics, and Gambler Ace. Next I took out David Ramey with girlfriend Patty from Florida. As always my boat is loaded with lady Luck and Patty caught the largest Bass and the most fish this day. A lot of the success is do to a strong sharp hook , I feature X-Point or Daiichi Hooks, for the best penetration and strongest forged steel . The fishing has been good all over South Florida regardless If I take you to Miami for Peacock Bass, or The Everglade’s or Lake Okeechobee for largemouth Bass. Give “The Hawghunter” Capt. Frank Carbone a call for your next Florida Fishing experience . 954-325-1115

Today was my first ever. I guided a Nanny and three kids. I thought it was going to be a trip from hell. Well, was I wrong on this one. I had such a Great time with The Nanny Lupie , 11 year old Fur, 8 year old Andres & 5 year old Carlos Furszyfer from Florida. It started out with Andres catching the first Peacock Bass, a nice 3.5 lb. as he screamedout “Oh yea baby” . Then Fur scored her first after that she was mostly our photographer Finally my Bait getter 5 year old Carlos got his and I think all of Miami knew it. I must complement the Parent Mauricio & Karen because these were the most well manner and respectable children I ever had onboard. It was a pleasure guiding them today, at the end they totaled 19 fish. Andres had 12, The Nanny 3, Carlos 3 and Fur 1. Capt. Frank guides 7 days a week , call now for your day on the water.

Here is why South Florida is one of the fishery in the world. This is the only place you can catch both Peacock Bass and Big Largemouth Bass on the same trip. This nice couple Heather Campbell & John Nguyen from Arkansas had a great two days of fishing. They started out in Miami for Florida Peacock Bass , and on the very first cast, Heather caught this 4 lb. beauty. She then proceeded to catch 4 other before John caught his first, we won’t tell the size it was. John then came back with his big one of the day. By 10:00 am we were out of bait, they had gone through 7 doz. shiners, this was the first time we had run out so early. After 33 peacock bass 5 Milan’s. and 1 Largemouth the couple decided to go back to the Hotel, for a cool drink. On day two it was all Heather, as Lady Luck strikes again. We headed out to The Everglades, at the break of dawn. On the second cast,” it was on”, as we started to catch several Bass. Heather was using her favorite bait, a fluke within 20 mins. her rod bent over she battled and landed her Big Bass of the day, a nice Florida 6 lb. Lunker. John was worming doing very well also ,he was working the bottom with a Gambler 10 ” Worm with a 4/0 X-Point Hook. Heather then struck again with another nice bass , and by 11 am they both had enough bass and sun and again opt to go in. The count was over 40 Bass up to 6 lb. So the summer pattern is on, and if you have some time, so does “The Hawghunter”, Capt. Frank Carbone who guides 7 days a week.

What a Day Andy Smith from North Carolina had fishing for Peacock Bass. Andy caught 17 Peacock bass and 4 Largemouth all on artificial lures. Andy started out in the first 5 mins catching his first one on top water. After that it was all jerk baits. He was working about 5 ft. under the water, and the peacock’s were slamming it. This was truly a fun day of fishing , I felt like it was two buddies just going out and having a good time on the water. Andy stated that he has been out with others in the past , but by far this was his best trip ever catching 21 and learning more tips for catching Peacock Bass. The peacock bass action has been good right now and if you have some time to get away come on down. Capt. Frank Carbone , “The Real Hawghunter” guides 7 days a week. and always ready to show you a good time.

I spent my Father’s Day’s working, but doing what I love the most. “Fishing”. I got to spend my morning with repeat clients The Castellano Family from Florida. The day started out with young 8 year old Annika catching the first Peacock of the day and turned out to be the biggest. 4 LB. 13 oz. Next Miguel landed his peacock fallowed by Mom who Peacock was the second Largest of the day 4 LB. 9 0z. What happened to dear Old Dad on Father’s Day , this was his gift. Well, Andreas even though he didn’t catch any bigger ones he did come close to catching the most only to be out fished by his daughter, Annika. Then we had some excitement when Miguel hooked into a 40 – 50 lb. Tarpon and fought him for 30 seconds until he jumped and busted the line. Next it was Miguel turn to catch a 4 lb. Peacock Bass. At the end of the day the Family caught 19 Peacock’s Dad caught also caught a big Oscar. and Miguel hooked the Tarpon. What a nice Father’s day with a great family. Family Fishing Together
