Jan Largemouth & Peacock Report
Jan
2010
With the cold weather upon us the fishing has been very good. It’s not often that Florida sees 40 degree weather for a week straight. This took it’s toll on several species, but did not effect the Largemouth. Right now you can come on down and expect to catch 100 + largemouth in a single day. Most of these Bass are being caught on plastics. Bill Guzman from NY came down for 2 Days of fishing and on the first day catching 17 Peacock Bass and on Day Two Catching over 70 Bass in 6 hrs. in the Everglade’s most of the Bass being in the 1.5 – 2 lb. range with an occasional bigger one.As far as the Peacock Bass are concerned , it has been a bit slower due to the water dropping lower then 60. Although Russ Giannetti from NY a return client did manage to catch a nice large Male Peacock Bass. Then yesterday Bill App with his Sister Judy and their friend Kathy hammered over 150 Bass using mostly Gambler Ace and trick worms while Judy used some healthy shiners from BJ’s Bait & Tackle located in Plantation. So if your looking to bend the Rod and catch a lot of Largemouth then come on down and the “The Hawghunter”, Capt. Frank Carbone show you how it’s done.Limited date’s are still available for February & March so book early. Good Fishin’
