Just got in a new report from the last week fishing on the Jurubaxi River. Once again this is a big fish Private River. They caught 20 over 80 cm up to 22 LB. Today I had filmed a TV segment for Universal Huntress. These are 4 lovely young woman that have a passion for Hunting, and now wanted to try out fishing for Peacock Bass. This was an interesting day, as I had to take two Huntress in the morning and the others in the afternoon. Everything turned out very successful and quite the enjoyable day. Here are some of what the girls caught. Kasi scored the two biggest a nice Large mouth & Peacock Bass Jen Caught a large Midas Cichlid and Peacock Bass Norissa (Nur) Kasi Nur & Me Chantelle Needless to say I enjoyed this day, they were all a pleasure and will be join me in The Amazon Nov. 2017 , if anyone is interested in joining and being a part of the Show. This past weekend I had a nice couple from NC Brian & Wanda Grice. Wanda being the nice wife that she is gave this to t her husband as Christmas gift. On day one we headed to Blue Lagoon for a day of fishing for Peacock bass. Well my favorite weather girl lied to me , Julie said there was going to be no rain until late afternoon. Well needless to say she was wrong, and got drenched. The wind and rain never let up the entire day. Brian started thing off with a Mylan cichlid, and Wanda catching her first peacock bass. With the wind blowing strong we headed to the canals. the water was cleaner and the fishing was better. By noon and totally soaked we went to Sonia’s for a great Cuban lunch. Now on day 2 , it was a totally different day it was beautiful no wind and mostly sunny and a high of 84 degrees. Thing started out with the same as yesterday with the couple on their first cast catching these 2 nice fish Brian with a nice 6 lb Bass and Wanda with a peacock Bass over 4 lb. 19.5 “. They caught several peacock & largemouth bass Brian even battled a huge blue cat. The great thing about fishing South Florida it’s the only place you can catch both species on the same trip. After the 2 Days of fishing Brian caught the biggest Largemouth and Wanda catching the biggest Peacock Bass which she is mounting as this was her biggest fish she ever caught. After they battled these peacock bass they are looking to join me this fall in The Amazon. They say you never forget your first time. Here was mine, I had an awesome morning on the water with a great family and today marks a first for both of us…My clients Nicole and Nyal got engaged on the Bass Boat this morning!! Nyal was down on his knee and all that…her brother Eric came from Georgia…she said YES…and caught the fish of a lifetime!! “What a day” Beside this Great moment there were others her 5 year old son Albie caught 19 fish by himself , and the biggest peacock bass of the day. I can’t forget the man with the ring Nyal who also caught his fair share of Bass. they caught near 40 Peacock & Largemouth Bass. Nicole caught a 9 L B. “HAWG” this is a catch of a Lifetime, I told her this would be a day she’ll never forget. Join us on your next visit to South Florida.

What a day for Jacob and Sylwester originally from Poland now living in NY. These friends caught a total of 42 fish including Peacock Bass over 5 LB . Largemouth Bass to over 8 Lb caught by Jacob. not to mention a few doubles. A Mylan Cichlids and my first a stripe bass . The fishing Buddies ended the day with this double. They will be back again and considering The Amazon for the 20 lb monster Peacock Bass. On Sunday I had a great trip with Dave Gould from Florida and his two sons Garret and Ty . The trio caught over 50 fish and 5 different species Peacock bass, Large mouth Bass, a Snook , a Jack & Cichlids. One things for sure the peacock do bite in the rain. The action was non stop all day. In the past two day’s the Peacock Bass fishing has been good. First up I had a Father and Son team Mike & Graham Cole from North Florida. They wanted only to fish with lures, so that’s what we had done catching 10 including some largemouth and a cichlid. The peacock’s were all caught on Castaic and Reaction Strike jerkbaits which was the lure of choice while we were film the TV show Bass Dr. which will air on WFN this winter. The action started as soon as the sun broke through the clouds, as Graham started things off. Mike struggled in the beginning, setting the hook in the morning, but that afternoon was things were better for him. Next day I had a great couple referred to me by a family member a repeat client of mine. Mike and Crissie Gordon from California. This couple just destroyed the Peacock Bass pitching live bait deep. This was celebrating their 15 th anniversary , and in less then 4 hrs. managed to put 26 peacock bass into the boat up to over 4 LB. caught by Crissie. Today I had this great couple from Louisiana, Ryan Porter and his girlfriend Amanda . What split day is, I give you the best of both world’s. You get both species in two different locations. We started out in The Everglades this couple caught over 70 Bass all on artificial plastics by Gambler Baits. Amanda out fish her man , and never put the Ace bait down. The lure of choice today was the Ace color didn’t matter, also EZ swimmers, jerk baits and topwater. Although most of the bass were between 1-2 LB. Ryan did slam a nice 4.5 LB. two over 3 LB. By 11:30 the decision was made to attack the Peacock Bass. As soon as we got to our next fishing hole the storm came making the fishing tough with 25 + mph winds. Once the storm passed they caught 10 Peacock Bass and guess who caught the biggest, “What a fight”. I fish 12 months out of the year, just waiting to hear from you. Capt. On this day I had a great trip with 2 dad’s and their Sons. Alex Mc Millian and Alex Jr. and RJ and RJ Jr. from Arizona. This was a banner day to say the least with the boys catching well over 50 fish up to nearly 6 LB. which was caught by Alex Sr. Here is 6 year old Alex first catch and 11 year old RJ’s Also alex’s big 4 .10 KLB. They also caught Midas, Largemouth Bass & Oscars RJ Sr. also caught a nice one This is what it’s all about Families fishing together and the memories will live on. Join Capt. At the beginning of the Season I had the pleasure of taking out Sports writer Tom Stephenson from Texas Sporting Journal Magazine. We had a fantastic day as he caught several Butterfly Peacock bass and two over 5 lb. Tom is looking forwar dto joining me again and passably joining me on my Alaska trip this July 27,2013. Today I had clients Bob & Todd De Martino from Syracuse , NY and Todd is from Wellington , Fl. The brothers want to catch some Big Bass and so they did. Bob got this 6 LB1 Oz. Lake Okeechobee “HAWG” . On a 3/4 day trip the boys boated over 30 Bass . The action was steady as the ENE winds started to pick up. So we moved to the inside and found a cut that the water was running through. The boys had a great time and looking forward to coming back in March for some Peacock Bass fishing and some top water action on the Lake. all the Bass today were caught on wildShiners and released for the Angler to Catch , “YOU”. This past month Lake Okeechobee has been nothing less then Fantastic . Hawghunter, Capt. Frank Carbone and staff of Guides have been catching several Bass over 6 lb. including 2 over 10 . LB. and 4 over 9 LB.
