K & Miku Ota from Japan “What a week”
Oct
2013
This past week I enjoyed the company of K Ota and his lovely wife Miku. The first day we tried our luck with snakeheads . The fishing was a bit tough with catching only one Snakehead 1 peacock and a few largemouth.
Now day two was a much differant story as the couple caught over 40 Bass on Lake Okeechobee. We started out the day chasing schooling bass ,which turned out to very successful. We caught the bass on Rattle Traps , spinner baits and gambler Studs, up to 4lb. We then headed over to another spot and catching a few more worming in the open water. At one point the couple had three doubles.
Next Miku took charge catching these nice bass, as K took the pictures. She was also excited when she caught an 8 lb. Bofin. These are the biggest fish she as ever caught.
On our third Miku went shopping while K and I switched gears and went Saltwater fishing with my Friend and guide Martin to Port of the Islands. We had a great day catching redfish, snook, Jacks, lady fish and spotting dolphin , sharks and sting rays.
The final day was Peacock Bass in Miami, this was an only atitfical lure trip. Surprisingly enough they caught Jacks, Peacock and Largemouth Bass and Cichlids. Mid day we headed over to my favorite watering hole, Sonia’s Cafe for a great cuban lunch.
The couple and a full fun filled week with “The Hawghunter” , Capt. Frank Carbone Book you dates now for the upcoming season and get out of the cold.
