“Trophy Bass” caught peacock bass fishing
Feb
2015
Fishing buddies Allan Sykes and Scott Lomand from Louisiana came down to South Florida to try their luck with Peacock Bass.
Due to the cold morning , the day started out catching bass and some cichlids. Scott caught the first peacock , then Allen got the unexpected surprise when he hooked in to this Trophy “Hawg”, a 9.6 LB. 26′ x 16.5′ Largemouth.
This is the great thing about fishing in South Florida it is the only place where you can catch both Largemouth and Peacock Bass on the same trip.
As the sunny day continued the peacock action got better as the friends landed 12 Peacock bass in a 1/2 day trip.
Next Day came the Amish Boys Joseph, Joel & Oris from Ohio , these were repeat clients that had a very successful Day on Lake Okeechobee last year.
This time they are doing two Days first the Peacock bass and next week back to the lake.
The Boys ended up with 16 Peacock bass up to 4.12 lb.4 ,LM and 3 Cichlids. What a great bunch of guys.
