Lake Okeechobee is the place to be for Big Bass
Feb
2013
The bite on Lake Okeechobee has continued to be successful , even with the windy conditions and drop in water Temp. On every trip this past week “The Hawghunter”, Capt. Frank Carbone and licensed guides have caught Bass over 5 Lb with the largest being 10.5 caught by a MN. Angler. Most of the bigger Bass are coming on Wild Shiners by pitching them up to the floating mats and cuts with running water. Also while using artificial baits the new Gambler Fat Ace (sanko style) or EZ swimmers using a Strong X-point hook. on braided line has been working the best. The reason for this is that they are in the heavy cover. When the sun comes up that’s where they are.The Next day I had long time client russ Giananotti, from NY as he hold up his biggest of 34 a nice 8.5 Lb. Okeechobee Lunker. Then there were a couple of good Old Jersey Boys, Izzy May and his cousin Bob, They had a fantastic day catching 47 bass up to 7 lb. with a few 6 ‘s 5 and several between 3-4 LB. If you go to our site you will see many of the bass are full of eggs, so now is the time to catch your Trophy “HAWG” while we are in the spawning season. Call Capt. Frank now and get out of the cold and come on down to sunny Florida. 954-325-1115 all the Bass caught were released for the next Angler to catch “YOU”.
