Lake Okeechobee BassLake Okeechobee Bass Fishing

August 16, 2006

This past week I had spent a few day on Lake Okeechobee. Watch out ,because the Lake is low.The Bass fishing has been a little tough and you need to catch your limit early. Once that sun comes up it's back to flipping or worming near any cover. There are still some Bass in the Shoal, Uncle Joe's & the Rivers. Our biggest Bass today was 4 Lb. On Sunday, my club the Bass n Fools had a winning weight of only 10.8 LB. but did have a big bass of 6 LB. 12 OZ. The Lake is still a great place to fish, it just that now you may not be able to get to your fishing holes. There are still some "Hawgs" out there early in the morning. Give a call for a nice day out on the water for either Largemouth or Peacock Bass.

Good Fishin' from "The Hawghunter", Capt. Frank Carbone.

Bass fishing at Lake Okeechobee FloridaDecember 24, 2005

While visiting for the Holidays, Tom Ross with Son Tom Jr. with son in law Dave decide to fish the "Big O". With the chill in the air and the water at brisk 57 degrees I felt it would be a late bite. On the opening cast Tom caught a nice 3 Lb. to get things started. As the morning went on the bite was slow only catching another 5 Bass. 3 on shiners 1 on sanko and the other a trap. Then as expected after 12 noon the sun came out and things warmed up the so did the bite. The Bass turned on as we moved from head to head, picking up 1 or 2 every time. By the end of the day the boys caught 17 bass, even though the biggest being 3 + Lb. We had a great time on the water. As the spawning season is near us the fishing is only going to get better. Capt. Frank Carbone, guides 7 days a week.

Good Fishin' and Seasons Greetings, from "The Hawghunter".
