Florida Everglades Bassin’

Today I had Gonzalo Senosian and his cousin Victor from Mexico City, Mexico.
This was Gonzalo’s last hooray before getting married , I did understand there was going to be a bachelor party also.

Well the day started out slow and it was a tough bite.
The bass were just softly picking up the bait and swimming off with it. When the anglers felt a little resistance , “set the hook”.
I tried swimming a Big EZ which was creating the explosion but couldn’t put a hook in it.
Then Gonzalo caught his first Florida Bass and a good one at  that, a nice 5 lb. on a Gambler Ace.

5 lb. Bass

By the end of the trip we had landed about 20 Bass all were a good size 3-5 lb. , with the exception of three smaller ones.

The key to being successful in The Glades right now is being patient , and you’ll catch them, work the Bait slow.

A nice Pair of Bass

The boys had a good time and caught some of their Bigger Bass ever, the lake they fish in Mexico is plentiful but not too much in size.

Today was and great day on the water for peacock Bass . Repeat clients Tim Tyler from Graybar Company brought down a few of his accounts for some fishing and having some fun at The Hard Rock.

Graybar Group

The boys in both boats managed to land 30 peacock bass and 1 Mylan
All the fish were caught on small size shiners, the day started out with Kevin catching the first Peacock and the action continued the rest of the day.

Then Jonathan came on strong by catching the majority.

Then at the end of the day the boys got a nice double to end a perfect day.

A Nice Double

Peacock bass fishing is a year round fishery , and knowing where and the right patterns to use is the ticket in having a successful day on the Water with “The Hawghunter” , Capt. Frank Carbone. Good Fishin’.

With our busy season coming up during the Holiday’s I suggest you book your date’s early.

Miami Peacock Bass

Today I had the privilege to service a couple of Army Vets, Jason Bates from Orlando and Mike  Guadagnino from Tampa. The Guys had to fulfill their desire to fish for Peacock Bass.

Well, these Army Buddies had a ball catching 22 Peacock Bass and 2 Largemouth.

The day started out with Jason catching the first Peacock Bass. Then Mike put this nice largemouth in the boat.

Mike then landed his first peacock, a small one at that. Boy ! Jason didn’t let him off easy with that catch. Well, then after talking all that  S:+*t. it was Mike’s turn , to get back at Jason with his Jason’s mighty Trophy.

Isn't it Cute 4 "

Then the fun began, as we found a honey hole and the boys took 13 Peacock Bass and one Largemouth out of. They even scored a double.

At the end of the day the duo caught their biggest and took several picture’s of their memorable Day on the Water with “The Hawghunter”, Capt. Frank Carbone

It’s Guys like Mike & Jason that give us the right to Fish in freedom ,” God Bless Amarica

A Banner Day for Largemouth

What a “Banner Day” for the Balack Brothers John & James from North Florida.
Jim was visiting from Iowa and wanted to spend a day on the water. They got to the ramp a bit late ,so we didn’t start fishing until 10:40 am  with blue bird sky’s and nil wind, so keep that in mind .

Jim started things off in less then 5 mins. with a nice 4 lb. Bass. on a Gambler Big EZ , while John was fishing off the back dragging shiners.
 Florida Everglades bass
Next James struck again with a massive explosion and landed a 5 lb. on top. The wind started to pick up a bit and John got his first in the boat , then another around 5 lb.

Throughout the day the brothers caught 15 bass all but two were over 3 lb. with a pair of  6 ’s . This was the best day both have ever had on the water and catching their biggest. ever.

Over 20 lb. bag

I even caught a 6 lb bass while trying another color.

Capt. Frank finding a pattern

The fishing has been good especially The Everglade’s and Lake Okeechobee.  The peacock Bass has been staying steady giving first timers a nice thrill. So give Capt. Frank Carbone “The Hawghunter” a call on your next visit to south Florida.

Trevor Taylor from Kansas thought there was no place like home, until he caught Bass in Florida. Trevor single handed caught over a 25 lb. bag of Bass. He started off with this nice 5 lb.  which was only the begining.

The day did start off a bit slow then when the sun came up the bite turned on , and the action was non stop.  Trevor never set down the one Rod all he did all day was swim a worm through the pads.

Here was another result

On the last cast of the day at around 1 PM he landed but another 6 lb. bass and ending a Great day on the water with “The Hawghunter’ , Capt. Frank Carbone.

Nice pair of Bass

The action is now get it while you can.

First there was Peter and his Son, all the way from Norway had a great 1/2 day of fishing in the Evereglade’s catching 18 Bass on Shiners and plastics.

Nest was return client Terry Richardson from GA. and his Son having a ball catching Peacock Bass in Miami. The duo caught a varity of fish. The only thing is I have no picture of Terry only his Son, Savon. Oh that’s right his was  bigger.

Next was John Lee and his Son also from GA. had a nice day catching 5 differant species of fish , but of course mostly Florida Peacock Bass.

In Florida the Peacock Bass spawn all year round. ., even though the Prime spawning season is March &April and again in AUG. So come on down and catch some of these scrappy fighters.

On these two day’s Myself and my # 1 Guide, Doug Harris had the opportunity to fish not only with a Great guy , but a Great Florida Angler, and here is his Testimonial.

Frank / Doug
Just a quick note to thank you for a two day of fishing adventures, I had a great time on the water and your service is amongst the very few that can be considered a “Real Guiding Service”.

On day one Doug took Juan for some Florida Peacock Bass , and what a day it was. This Angler caught some nice Peacock Bass up to 4 lb. Juan caught his bass on Live Bait and also Artificial Lures.

The Weather was great and the bite was on.
At the start on the first cast, he caught a peacock bass and the action didn’t stop there. The sun was high and they were on top, most of the peacock’s were caught site fishing.

The Next day it was my turn to show Juan a good time and that I did. It was like two  buddies fishing together. Juan caught all his Bass on plastic’s, mostly Gambler EZ Swimmers and other baits he brought along.

He landed some nice 5 &  6 Lbers. to top of his great day in the Glade’s. All the bass were caught swimming the baits through the pads, and then just hold on.

Right now The Everglades is doing very well with catching Big Bass. This season was a slow start , but it’s here now. So Give “The Hawghunter” Capt. Frank Carbone and his Guide’s a call for some South Florida top Water action.

Special props Doug Harris, he was spot on fish all day long and readily available to help with everything I may have needed during our outing; we laughed and caught tons of fish all day long (Even the weather was perfect!!!).

I truly look forward to go out again with you guys.

Sincerely,

Juan Mattos
Miami Florida.

A Salinas Family Outing

Today was a great day as I enjoyed the Salines Family from Texas, Tony, Erica, Eric & Aidan. The Day started out with a heavy down pour which forced us to fish under a bridge. As soon as the rain stopped we spotted three Peacock Bass , but no luck in catching them.

So I ran to another spot, once there the action started. We had sighted a nice Peacock Bass up against the banks. Both Tony & Erica started to pitch for the first of several Peacock’s  to come. As always Lady Luck strikes again, as his lovely wife Erica was victorious.

Florida Peacock bass

A Happy face

Everyone caught a peacock bass even 4 year old Aidan , they also caught a few other tropical species.  to top out the day around 11 Peacock Bass  .
You and your Family can also enjoy a day on the water with Capt. Frank, “The Hawghunter”

The day wasn’t looking in our favor with dark clouds and a heavy down pour at the ramp before we launched the Triton. Well,I guess  the bass gods were looking down on us and you’ll  see why.

What a Banner Day for this Angler from PA. Gerg Lesnotk. The day started out with Greg catching a 5 lb. Largemouth on his third cast.

5 lb. Largemouth

As we fished down the canal of The everglades we were catching bass on a steady pace. Greg then caught a 2 .5 lb. Bass and , “stated that this is a great catch for his home waters. By the end of the day , he caught a bass that was and stated ’ Oh! it’s ONLY 3.5 lb. Boy !  do we spoil our clients.
By mid day he had  the 5 lb. 2 4 lb. and several chunky 3’s.

Greg thought that these Bass were going to be his biggest

Then he tossed a worm in to the pads , and there was a Massive Explosion. Greg battled this nearly 9 lb. “HAWG” out of the pads into the open water, then proudly hold up his trophy and the Biggest Bass of his life.

A Monster Bass 9 lb.

This was mostly all top water action , Greg finished off his Banner day with a nice 6 lb. Greg will go back to PA. to brag about his day on the water with “The Hawghunter” Capt. Frank Carbone, Good Fishin’

What a Pair of Bass
