Another Okeechobee 10 LB. “HAWG”

Yes , that’s right Jim Ezinga and his lovely wife Julie from Chicago boated our 5 th 10 lb. Largemouth Bass of the year.

The day started out catching only 2-3 lb Bass. Then as usual Lady Luck strikes again as Julie caught a 7.8 lb. Trophy, her largest ever.

She then caught another 5 lb. and finally Jim caught his 6 lb. It was all Julie, until Jim even things up towards the end of the day, with his 10 lb. “HAWG”. Jim has been waiting all his life for a 10 lb. Largemouth Bass and now his dream came true with “The Hawghunter”, Capt. Frank Carbone.

This couple had a banner day to remember and were out of shiners by 11:30 am.

For the past three days we had repeat client Terry Bullock & Greg Cline from TN.

Here is some of the action each boat caught.

First Day Terry holds up his 7.15 lb. and Greg with his 6.7 lb. a couple of nice Okeechobee “HAWG’s” They totaled out around 120 + bass in three days.

On Day Two it was Bruce Cline that came up with a 9 .73 LB. while being guided by Capt. Joe

Then on Day three it was Bill Lowe that hit the jackpot with Guide Capt. Mike catching an 8 , 9 , & 10 Lb. Bass.

Also this client ended this Fantastic Trip with another 9- 3/4 lb. Trophy with Capt. Steve.

Peacock , Peacocks & More Peacock Bass

Well the had been a great season for Peacock Bass and should even get better as the season goes on into April.

First was return client Ron Spindel and his friend the boys started out catching Peacock bass as Ron displays a beauty.

Next day they fished Lake Okeechobee while shiner fishing they caught over 30 bass from 2-5 lb.

Then back to Miami again for the Mighty Peacock Bass. Repeat clients Tom & Betty Belliveau from TX. had a great day catching several peacock bass fro 3-6 lb.

Just look at the colors of these beauties.

Followed by Tom Muzek and his Dad having a great day also catching some big peacock bass.

Then last but not least was Jason La Butti and his Dad from Florida. Jason was one of the most excitable client I have ever had when he caught a fish. When he brought in his 5.5 lb . peacock bass I think all of Miami heard him , not to mention he woke up all the dogs.

Big Bass on Okeechobee

The Big Bass action is still on as today Brain & Ryan Barth from Maryland experianced on The Big “0″.

It didn’t take more then 60 seconds before the first hook up came. Today was a Wild shiner trip, and these boys went through 9 DOZ. and it was worth every penny.

They caught over 50 Bass up to 9.3 LB. , 1- 7 2- 6 ’s and 5 over 5 lb. the rest were stout 3-4 lb. Okie bass, with only a few under 3 lb. ,

Here are some of the Bass caught today. Ryan Started thing off with this 5 lb. and he was like a kid in a candy store.

Then the Bragging right went to Dad as he caught this 9.3 lb. Trophy Okecchobee “HAWG”

Florida Peacock Bass Frenzy

With our mild winter the peacock bass fishing in Miami has been Great. We have been averging 20-25 per day mostly in the 2-3 LB. range. with an occasional 4-6 lb.

Here are some of the Peacock bass caught by Clients

Drew Harpe owner of Canopy Construction from Texas had a great day fishing for Peacock Bass both boats caught over 20 Peacock Bass up to 5 lb. Also they enjoyed a fantastic lunch at Sonia’s Water front cafe.

Then there was repeat clients John Duever Mike Gumino, Mike Patton Mo & Rick, Danny Parks just to name a few

Okeechobee Trophy Bass

First up I had long time clients Bruce & Diane from Maryland, this couple loves to fish. This was their first time on the Lake and what a memorable one it was.

The duo always came alone , but this time they treated their Son to a great day on the Water.

They all caught Bass in the 5 lb. + range and several 2-4 lb. Now guess who caught the Biggest ? Well lady luck strikes again as Diane struggles to hold up her 7 .4 lb. “HAWG”.

But Bruce also caught a 6 lb. also

The next day it was Mike Lisanno from Boston time to step up to the plate, and boy did he hit a couple of home runs.

Mike has been to the Amazon twice before , but this was his first time fishing South Florida with me.

Mike also had a fantastic day catching over 30 bass up to 7.8 lb. we had used Wild shiners and I never seen a client run from the back of the boat to the front as the bobbers went down one after the other.

Another Trophy Peacock Bass 6 LB. 2 Oz.

What a day Gary Rubin from Alabama had catching peacock bass in Miami. After all the rain we had the fishing was very slow in the morning. It wasn’t until 11:56 am before Gary finally landed his first Peacock Bass.

Then with in 5 minutes he hooked in a battle he never expected, a Trophy 6 lb. 2 oz. Butterfly Male Peacock Bass.

These fish turned on for him, even though he only ended up with 8 Bass, the smallest was 3- 3/4 LB.

Then on the last cast as we headed to the ramp he land another 5-1/2 LB. Every Peacock bass he caught was a beautiful Male.

The Famed Okeechobee is “ON” Big Bass Now

The Big Bass action still continues on Lake Okeechobee. As shown in this report by Ontario’s Bill Apt his sister Judy who caught most of the Big Bass today, and Friend Kathy.

The start of the day was slow catching only a few bass. Then once the sun came up the action was non -stop.

The trio was catching mostly 2-3 lb. bass until Judy hooked into her “First” 10 lb. Trophy.

Judy could do no wrong , it was her day to shine. She also caught an 8 lb. 7 lb. 6 lb. amongst several others in the 3-5 lb. Range.

Then if that wasn’t enough , she busted her 2nd 10 lb. Bass of the day. Anglers go all their lives without catching a 10 lber. ,and this lady angler landed two in one day.

John came back with his biggest 6 lb.

Then Kathy answered back with her nice 5 lb. Bass.

These Canadian’s have a lot to go back to Canada with, stories, photo’s and memories. At the end of the trip and saying our Goodbye’s Judy, gave me one of the nicest compliments, ” Frank, You made my life” . The group all agreed that this was the bast fishing trip they had ever experienced and will be back for their third Outing.

WOW! a 8.1 LB. Florida Peacock Bass

What a banner day for Keith & Deb Maltais from N. J. Deb started the day off with the first of over 40 Peacock Bass caught on their Trip.

The couple caught fish at every spot we stopped mostly 2-3 lb. peacock bass.

Then once the sun came up bite got much better and fish got bigger.

As we moved into another area the action started again and around 11 am , it happened , Keith hooked into “Hawghunters’ 3rd biggest Peacock ever. His rod bent over the line started stripping and the chase was on. Every time this beast saw the boat he ran again and again.

Finally Keith after several minutes Keith boated this 8.1 lb. Male Peacock Bass.

Within moments Deb’s rod went down in similar fashion, but broke off, what a disappointment. Never the less the action continued , and now it was her time to shine. After a nice struggle , and wrists hurting, she landed her 5 lber.

Today’s trip consisted of 6 fish over 4 lbs. 1- 5 and Keith’s Trophy 8 lb. Florida Butterfly Peacock Bass. The Peacock bass are hitting very well right now and “The Hawghunter”, Capt. Frank Carbone knows where to find them.

The only place to find them larger is the Amazon. My next trip is Nov. 10- 18, 2012 and I have ONLY 6 spots left if anyone is interested.

Today this couple from Jersey had a day to remember and for sure will be back again. Book “NOW” while there are still choice date’s left.
